Micro Craft Kits Instructions

Goldfish Embroidery

Includes water soluble stick and stitch pattern paper and handdyed wool/silk embroidery thread.

  1. Peel and stick the goldfish pattern piece on to the fabric you want to embroider.
  2. Use a backstitch or stem stitch to stitch over the pattern lines.
  3. Soak your stitched fabric in cold water for about 30 minutes and rinse away the stick-and-stitch paper.

Woven Diamond Charms

Includes handdyed wool yarn, birch loom, aluminum jump ring.

  1. Thread the needle with yarn and tie a knot in the other end. Starting on one side bring your needle through one hole and go across the loom to the hole on the opposite side. Then move over one hole and go back across the loom to the other side. Do this for all 5 holes.
  2. Bring your needle through the hole in the opposite corner. Weave through the yarns over-under-over-under-over. Then bring the needle through the hole on the opposite side.
  3. Move over one hole and repeat but do the opposite pattern: under-over-under-over-under. Repeat until you have completed all the rows.
  4. Flip to the back and tie a knot. Put a dot of glue on your knots and then you can trim the yarn ends short.

Slip Knot Bracelet

Includes cotton cord and glass beads.

  1. Thread the beads onto the cord.
  2. Hold one end of the cord in your left hand. Lay it to the right following your pointer finger and bring the other end up to make a loop.
  3. Wrap the cord twice around your finger. The wraps go away from you and then through the center loop.
  4. Bring the end to the left of the wraps and then through the two wraps from left to right.
  5. Pull it tight. Tie an overhand knot on each end of the cord. Slide the cord through the knot to adjust the size.

Wooly Mushroom Ornaments

Includes wool felt, cotton thread, glass beads.

  1. Cut the wool felt bead in half. Please be careful! This makes 2 mushroom caps.
  2. Tightly roll the felt rectangle like a cinnamon roll, starting at the short end to make a cylinder. Add a little glue to hold the roll together. Glue stick is ideal for this!
  3. Thread your needle. Bring the needle through the top of the mushroom cap from top to bottom. Then go through the cylinder bead, add a glass bead and go back through the cylinder the opposite way. Stitch one more time through the mushroom cap from bottom to top.
  4. Pull the thread so the pieces lay close together. Leave about 3 inches of thread at the top and tie the ends together to make a hanging loop.

Tiny Alpaca Herd

Includes heavy paper alpaca coloring pages, tiny wooden clothespins.

  1. Color your alpacas using your favorite art materials.
  2. Carefully cut them out around the black line.
  3. Add the legs by clipping the clothespins to the bottom
  4. Stand them up!

Wooly Sheep Keychain

Includes wool felt, cotton thread, cotton ribbon.

  1. Fold the ribbon in half and slip the folded ribbon over the split ring.
  2. Sandwich the ends of the ribbon between the two felt pieces.
  3. Use a running stitch to stitch around all four sides of the square through both layers of felt and the ribbon.

Woven Pendant

Includes wool yarn, waxed cotton cord, birch plywood.

  1. Tie a knot in one end of the cotton cord. Leave the top two holes empty. Bring the needle through the holes and zig zag across the loom making parallel lines of cord all the way from top to bottom. Tie a knot on the back.
  2. Use the wool yarn to weave (over-under-over-under) into the cord warp threads. Push the rows of weaving tightly together.
  3. Thread the remaining cord through the top two holes to make necklace cord for your pendant.

Silk Tassel Charms

Includes silk embroidery thread, aluminum jump rings.

  1. Carefully remove the paper wrappers from the ends of the thread skein. There is a cord tied underneath; do not remove the cord.
  2. Slip the jump ring through the thread loops on both ends of the skein.
  3. Gently rotate the ends of the ring to close the loops. They are soft enough you can do this with your fingers or a small pair of pliers.
  4. Cut the skein in half to make two tassel charms.
