This is part of a series of classes I am teaching that I call “beyond the book”. Each one starts with a project from The Spoonflower Handbook as inspiration and we go more in depth and try more variations that build on the basics.
Go beyond the book and create an infinity scarf with digitally printed fabric created from a macro photograph. In the first class, we will focus on photography with a hands-on photoshoot to capture macro photographs of small objects. We will learn about lighting effects, focus, macro mode, and optional features on your camera. In the second session, we will edit our photos learning about cropping, resizing, resolution, and ratios to create a finished file that is ready to print. Your photo will be transformed to an abstract print on fabric, which you can finish into an infinity style scarf. Supply list will be provided at registration (you will need a basic camera and a laptop). Please register through Textile Center.
This class is 2 sessions: November 9 & 16.
