Spend an hour each week stitching in this fun hand embroidery sampler class, held online via Zoom. This is a 12 week class, starting January 18, 2024. Each week, you will learn a new stitch and complete a section of the tropical fish design. The two fish panels are 12×8 inches and were designed by Becka and printed on 100% organic cotton sateen fabric from Spoonflower. A pre-washed panel, and 6mm/20mm iridescent sequins are included in your class fee and will be mailed to you after you register. You provide the rest of the materials and tools for class. You do not need embroidery experience for this class. Beginners are welcome! I will pre-record a class about how to finish your panels into a handy zipper bag so that you can work along with that lesson on your own time. You can alternately finish your panel as anything you like: frame it, add to a quilt, make tote bag pockets or table runner, use it for the front of a pillow.

NOTE: This is the live Zoom version of the class. The on-demand version of this class is available here and all Zoom students will have access to those recordings if you have to miss a live session or need a refresher. The on-demand lessons will parallel the live class. You only need to register for this session (not both).
Materials you will need for class:
* scissors
* embroidery or chenille needle
* lightweight fusible fleece to back your fabric before stitching. Recommended: Heat & Bond or Pellon. You need about a 12×18 inch piece.
* 6 stranded embroidery floss or size 8 perle cotton. Choose your own coordinating or contrasting color for each fish.
You can use what you have or these are recommended DMC colors.
Yellow 973, Orange 742*, Pink 3804, Lime 704, Green 911*, Turquoise 996*, Rainbow variegated 4100, Blue/Green variegated 4030 (if you were in the Parrot class, these with the * are the same colors we used in that class)
These are recommended Wonderfil Perle Cotton colors.
128 Key Lime, 144 Emerald, 10 Blue Lagoon, 1042 Fruity Cereal, 1027 Seaside Cabana, 212 Honeycake, 230 Sunset, 21 Crown Jewel.
