A weekly sew-a-long via Zoom to make an heirloom gingerbread house ornament. A kit of materials will be provided. Each kit contains enough materials to make two houses, although the class will focus on finishing one. If you cut carefully, you’ll have enough felt and other materials to make a second house on your own. Kits will be mailed out September 11, 2026, Zoom link will be emailed the week before class starts.

Class meets via Zoom from noon-1 pm on Thursdays from September 24 – December 10. If you need to miss a class, no problem! A full schedule will be emailed to students with the specific pattern steps we will complete each week so you can catch up from the written instructions.

This is a detailed and complex pattern to create but the stitching is relatively easy so it’s great for adventurous beginners. It’s truly a mixed media project including felt, paper, beads, sequins and more. Because there are a lot of waiting-for-things-to-dry steps, we will not complete every bit in class, but the project will be broken into bite-sized steps with lots of tips and tricks and opportunities for questions. There will be a little homework between sessions, including stitching, gluing, and waiting for pieces to dry.

Materials You’ll Need

You will need to supply scissors, tacky glue, embroidery and beading needles, sewing thread. You will also need a small amount of one accent color of thread (ie red, pink, green etc) of your choice. Either embroidery floss or perle cotton will work.

Your kit will include the colors and materials shown in the photo: cinnamon colored felt with accents of white glitter felt, pink, mint and red.

The design is the fabulous  “All Through the House” pattern from Mmmcrafts. All students are required to purchase a copy of the pattern directly from mmmcrafts.etsy.com.

Sew-a-long sessions are very casual and friendly. Everyone is welcome!
