The Snips return with Just Desserts, a new fiber arts exhibition exploring confectionaries and comeuppance with the work of over 20 different textile and fiber artists.

“Just desserts” or “just deserts.” Are you drawn to the saccharine delight of a sweet treat? Or do you believe that everyone ultimately receives the reward or punishment they deserve? In this exhibition, we mean both.

Just Desserts unpacks our relationships to confectionary form: the colors, textures, and nostalgia that glistens in pastry cases of our mind. Paired, of course, with decadent indulgence and the moral weight attached to sweetness. Whether it’s being “too much,” “too soft,” or “excessive,” and what it means to be pushed to the limit until we crumble. From playful and ornate, to biting and provocative; the works exhibited will examine justice, regret, retribution, pleasure, and excess.
