This felt toucan is fun to stitch and has all kinds of details that make it one-of-a-kind. Your materials kit will come with a piece of hand-dyed rainbow felt for the beak, so we can jump right in to stitching without waiting for dyes to dry. But you will also see a demo of how to dye your own rainbow felt pieces using a kitchen-friendly dye technique with Koolaid, so you can make more tie-dyed felt for future projects. Learn a few basic hand embroidery stitches and you can finish your toucan into a pin, magnet, ornament or just a whimsical piece of art.

Have another family member or person in your household who would like to join you for class? Just add on an additional materials kit when you register.

About the project.

• You will be able to complete a toucan in class and see a demo for making your own tie dyed felt
• Kit will include a variety of my favorite materials: pre-dyed wool/rayon felt, threads, sequins, and notions.

Tech details & class access.

Class fee includes a 2 hour live online Zoom class and a materials kit mailed to you before the class session. You will need to provide scissors for this project; all other materials you need are included in the kit. Please register early so the materials have time to arrive before class. Registration deadline August 16.
