A quick crash course in photographing your small scale art work using your smartphone or a small point-and-shoot camera to capture and edit images. Learn tips for using a light box and everyday materials to light your work and basic edits that can help your photos shine on your website, social media or Etsy shop. This will be a hands-on session focused on photographing small objects (<15 inches) and you should bring a smartphone/camera to class with you and one small piece of art that you have made (optional.) This is an in-person class. Space is limited.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the technical side of running your shop, creating shipping profiles and what it takes to manage an online storefront. We’ll also talk about search strategies and pitfalls to help your shop get started on the right foot.

Then we’ll switch gears to do some basic photo edits that can help your photos shine on your website, social media or Etsy shop. Presented by Teaching Artist Becka Rahn. Not able to make the date and still want to view the class? Register anyway, we'll send out a link to a video of the class when available, you get two weeks to watch it. Traditional art meets technology in this class. First, you’ll design and digitally print patterned art paper. Next, you’ll wrap a bookboard ornament, using a traditional technique used for making handmade book covers. Add an animal illustration inspired by your pet or found-art collage to your design and a ribbon hanging loop. Your finished piece can be used as a holiday ornament or home decor. Bring your own tablet or laptop with an up-to-date web browser; we will have a limited number available to borrow at class.
