Learn how to create MN native plant illustrations using collage techniques and cut painted deli paper. See a demo of how to make your own painted papers. Then use some artist-made papers provided in your kit to create your own design using plant photos for reference. Your finished pieces can be used as note cards or tiny art pieces. This class is held online via Zoom and hosted by Dakota County Libraries. Registration is available through their website approximately 6 weeks before class.
Spend an hour each week stitching in this fun hand embroidery sampler class, held online via Zoom. This is an 13 week class, starting May 22, 2025. Class dates: Thursdays May 22 - August 21, 12:00 – 1:00 pm Central Time (no class the week of July 4). Live sessions are held each week, but your registration for this class includes access to pre-recorded lessons, so if you need to miss any class, you can catch up with the recording on your own schedule. This class is great for beginners. A little experience with hand sewing will be helpful. Stitches in this project will include: fern stitch, berry stitch, fly stitch, Spanish knotted feather stitch, french knots, feather stitch, sorbello stitch, sailor stitch, threaded coral stitch, triple chain, detached chain, bullion knots, blanket stitch, Indian edging stitch, couching and wheat ear stitch. Some of the stitches include beads. You may have some stitching to complete outside of class time and video lessons will be available for you to review. Your class fee includes a pre-printed panel of velveteen fabric, professionally printed by Spoonflower. The fabric has a plush texture and a slight sheen.
