Make a pair of small notebooks with embroidered Kraftex covers. Kraftex is a heavy-weight, flexible, washable, leather-like paper. Personalize your cover with Sorbello stitch embroidery. We’ll tear down drawing paper from larger sheets, creating a torn or deckle edge on each sheet. You’ll end with the perfect size notebook to keep in your bag for lists and notes. Traditional art meets technology in this class. First, you’ll design and digitally print patterned art paper. Next, you’ll wrap a bookboard ornament, using a traditional technique used for making handmade book covers. Add an animal illustration inspired by your pet or found-art collage to your design and a ribbon hanging loop. Your finished piece can be used as a holiday ornament or home decor. Bring your own tablet or laptop with an up-to-date web browser; we will have a limited number available to borrow at class.
