Doorknobs bags
Although they might resemble tooled leather, these bags were inspired by a collection of doorknobs at Hennepin History Museum in Minneapolis. These doorknobs were reclaimed from buildings that were torn down. One comes from St Joseph Church (1870-1976) and the other from Minneapolis City Hall (1887-1905). As part of a residency I did with the museum, I photographed the doorknobs and manipulated the photos to fit on a small clutch-style bag. These bags are available exclusively at the Hennepin History Museum gift shop.
