Tweed
2016
This design started as a photo of my friend Jen’s handspun yarn. I love how a photograph of something that is “everyday” can become a whole new abstract design when you change the scale to make it unexpected and out of context. For this design, I used the yarn as the body and created a more pixellated border print, so the design changes at the collar and sleeve cuffs.
This dress was shown as part of a collection of my work at the Handweavers Guild of America conference “Moving Forward” runway show in 2016.
