Two Faced is an art book with the handstitched profile of a Gila monster on each cover. The Gila monster is a near-threatened species in the Americas and is one of a group of venomous “beaded lizards”, recognized by their pearl-shaped scales and blue-black forked tongue. The title Two Faced is a play on words, referring both to the faces on the covers and also the idiom meaning someone who is insincere and speaks ill of others behind their back while being nice to their face. Made in response to an unexpected conversation, the book pages are black to hint that the story has been redacted.
