I will post here the steps from the instructions that we do each week.
Week One October 31
Today we got the pattern pieces rough cut out, stuck them on to the felt, and started the back stitch embroidery.
Steps in the instructions: 2, 6, 7, 11
You can do as much or as little of the back stitching as you want to before next week. The pieces with back stitch are Night Shirt, Dressing Gown, Sleeve Fronts, Night Cap and optional date on the back of the dressing gown.
Week Two November 7
We finished the embroidery on the gown trim pieces (collar, sleeves, gown trim). We used fly stitch, but you can also stitch it just with straight stitches following the pattern lines. We stitched the beads and sequins on the gown, trim and nightshirt. The large and small sequins stack one on top of the other. You can choose which beads go on which pieces. I used one color on all of the gown pieces and a different color on the nightshirt.
Then cut out the pieces following the pattern lines. Then soak away the stabilizer and let the pieces air dry. I soak away the stabilizer on all pieces rather than peeling away.
Steps in the instructions: 13, 17, 18-20
Week 3 November 14
We added the slippers to the body, added the “skeleton” and stitched the body. Homework for next week is to stitch the leaves on to the sleeves.
Steps in the instructions: 21-26, 40-41
Week 4 November 21
We put together the arms this week. In step 42-43 she has you remove one end of the pipe cleaner and insert a piece of narrower pipe cleaner. We skip this step and instead just use the whole pipe cleaner with an even amount sticking out of the end of each sleeve.
Steps in the instructions: 42*, 44-48
Week 5 November 28
Nightshirt and dressing gown this week. Steps 49-56. We recorded this week’s session:
