Felt Colors for kits (from Benzie Designs)

Green: mint, clover, magenta, toast, smoke

Blue: oxford blue, pool, coral, white, toast

Thread Colors for kits (from Wonderfil)

Green: after dinner mint, new spring, paradise, glamour, khaki, black, captain grey

Blue: globetrotter, mountain lake, bubble gum, white, khaki, black

Green: dark fuschia 6mm, mambo melon 5mm, satin emerald 5mm

Week One – Oct 10

  • trace date (step 5)
  • choose colors, rough cut patterns, stick on patterns to felt (steps 6, 12)
  • back stitch pillow (steps 7 & 8)
  • back stitch date (step 18) This is optional and you can skip it if you don’t want a date

Reminder that you will need tacky glue, sewing thread (white or match your cup color) and optional glue stick for later classes.

Week Two – October 17

  • Stitch the back stitch and running stitch parts of the outer cup. (Steps 13 & 14)
    Green: Back stitch is hot pink, running stitch is medium green.
    Blue: Back stitch is white, running stitch is pink.
    (You can change around the thread colors if you want it. It’s up to you.)

Week Three – October 24

  • Finish stitching the fronds on each of the teacup sides and add the beads and sequins to the outer cup. (Steps 15 & 16)
  • Green: Green sequins go along the top edge, raspberry pink on the large circles and pink on the small circles on the flower part of each side.
  • Blue: Gold sequins go along the top edge, blue on the large circles and pink on the small circles on the flower part of each side.

Week Four: Halloween!

  • Stitch mouse, bear, cup handle, cup base, quilt (17, 19, 20, 21, 22). Cup handle and base are stitched in the same color as the leaves on the cup. Quilt can be in any color. Mouse and bear face stitched in black.
  • Add sequins to quilt. Quilt uses clear flat sequins and they can be attached with beads or french knots.
  • Cut out all pieces, soak & dry (Steps 24, 25, 29, 30)

Week 5: November 7

  • Stitch Cup pieces (Steps 31, 33, 38)
  • Glue handle & reinforcement pieces (26, 27, 28, 34) We did this after soaking, which is a Becka Variation.

Week 6: November 14

  • Assemble cup (Steps 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 48)

Week 7: November 21

  • Stitch handle & base, add the date or blank bottom circle, glue the base and handle (45, 46, 47, 49, 50, 51)
